BJP Slams Congress Manifesto as ‘Bundle of Lies’, Accuses Party of Misrepresentation and Lack of Vision

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly criticized the Congress party’s manifesto. They dismissed it as a weak effort to cover up the party’s failures during its five-decade rule. The BJP labeled the manifesto as ‘nyay patra’ (document for justice) while accusing the Congress party of hiding ‘anyay’ (injustice) against the nation’s people.

During a media briefing, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi lambasted the Congress manifesto, branding it a compilation of falsehoods designed to sow confusion among voters. Trivedi questioned the credibility of the Congress, emphasizing that despite ruling the country for over five decades, the party now espouses ‘nyay’ while failing to rectify past injustices during its tenure.

Trivedi derided the Congress’ electoral promises, asserting that while the BJP has a proven track record of fulfilling its commitments, the Congress has consistently fallen short in delivering on its assurances made during both general and assembly elections. He juxtaposed the BJP’s reliability, epitomized by “Modi ki Guarantee,” with the fractured leadership and self-serving interests within the UPA coalition.

Mocking the Congress further, Trivedi ridiculed the party’s inability to even feature an accurate image of an Indian river in its manifesto, highlighting discrepancies such as the use of a picture of the Buffalo River in New York under the water management section. He questioned the source of such erroneous imagery and criticized the party’s lack of attention to detail.

Trivedi also criticized Congress for its wavering stance on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), recalling how the party had previously entertained the idea of amending the Citizenship Act to grant citizenship rights to minorities from neighboring countries.

Taking a jab at the opposition’s skepticism regarding electronic voting machines (EVMs), Trivedi pointed out the inconsistency in their criticism, noting that while the machines were deemed functional during elections where the BJP faced losses, they were suddenly labeled as defective in regions where the BJP emerged victorious.

Joining the chorus of criticism, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lambasted the Congress manifesto, citing its lack of clarity, failure to outline concrete plans for harnessing the benefits of Industry 4.0, and even the use of misleading images purportedly representing India.

In sum, the BJP and its leaders left no stone unturned in denouncing the Congress manifesto, portraying it as a document replete with hollow promises, inaccuracies, and a stark departure from the BJP’s commitment to effective governance and delivery on electoral pledges.
