BJP attacks AAP for attributing Delhi’s pollution to Haryana, citing Arvind Kejriwal’s “polluted politics”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday for attributing Delhi’s “severe” pollution to BJP-ruled Haryana. The party claimed that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP’s “polluted politics” had turned the nation’s capital into a gas chamber.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which controls Delhi, declared on Monday that there has been a 50–67% decrease in the number of stubble-burning incidents in Punjab, which is ruled by the AAP. While Haryana is only 100 kilometers away from Delhi, Punjab is 500 kilometers away. The party asserted on its official X handle that “it should be analyzed what the Khattar government has done (to mitigate the pollution menace).”

“Polluting BS3 buses come to Delhi from Haryana; they have been mulling buying 100 EV buses but haven’t purchased them; there are long electricity cuts in Haryana which result in diesel generator pollution; they have not created any stubble-dumping ground; Punjab built 9; Delhi’s green cover is 23.6 percent, Haryana’s is just 3.6 percent,” it stated.
In response to the accusations, Shehzad Poonawalla, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, stated that 3,000 cases of stubble burning were found in Punjab yesterday.

“AAP and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have tainted politics, turning Delhi into a gas chamber… The chief minister of Delhi used to claim that stubble burning in Punjab was the cause of pollution before he came to power there. He claimed that the stubble issue would be resolved once the AAP arrived in Punjab. Over 3000 cases of stubble burning were reported in Punjab yesterday. What transpired with the biodecomposer and the equipment meant to be distributed to farmers a month prior?” he said to ANI.
