Meerut: During a BJP roadshow featuring actors from the Ramayan TV serial, a businessman in Meerut enthusiastically raised his hands and chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’, only to realize later that he had lost Rs 36,000 from his pocket. The incident unfolded as several individuals, including businessman Kulbhushan, fell victim to pickpocketing during the election tour on Monday.
The roadshow, led by BJP Meerut candidate Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Ram, along with his co-stars Dipika Chikhlia (Sita) and Sunil Lahri (Lakshman), attracted a large crowd. Amidst the festivities, a dozen people, including journalists and a BJP leader, reported thefts to the police.
