Bihar: Woman Kills Daughter Over Love Affair, Buries Body In Backyard

In Bihar’s Sitamarhi district, a suspected case of honour killing came to light when a woman, along with her two sons, strangled her daughter to death. The tragic incident occurred in Parsauni Madhwar village late on Sunday night.

As per the SHO of Parsauni police station, the mother, who is the main suspect, has been apprehended, but her two sons are currently evading capture. The victim had reportedly been involved in a relationship with a young man from the same village, a situation that her parents and two brothers vehemently disapproved of.

Despite her firm determination to marry the youth she loved, her mother and brothers resorted to extreme measures, strangulating her to death. To hide their heinous act, they buried her lifeless body in an empty plot. However, some vigilant villagers sensed that something was amiss and promptly alerted the local authorities.

The police acted swiftly and managed to arrest the accused mother, but the two sons involved in the gruesome crime are still at large. Law enforcement is actively pursuing them to bring them to justice.

Based on the confession provided by the detained woman, the police were able to recover the victim’s body from the burial site. The incident has shocked the community and highlights the urgent need for addressing issues related to honour killings and protecting the rights and choices of individuals involved in relationships not sanctioned by their families.
