Bihar Sees Record First-Phase Turnout; PM Modi Hails Voter Confidence In NDA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the people of Bihar for their unprecedented turnout in the first phase of voting on November 6, describing it as a clear sign of trust in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at both the National and state levels.

Addressing a large gathering in Aurangabad, PM Modi highlighted that nearly 65 per cent of registered voters cast their ballots, marking the highest polling percentage in Bihar since Independence. “This record-breaking turnout shows that the youth, farmers, and women of Bihar are coming forward to bless the NDA,” he said.

Recalling the period of Naxal violence in the region, the Prime Minister emphasised that Aurangabad had long suffered under Red terror during the RJD-Congress rule. “People feared leaving their homes during the jungle raj. However, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, peace was restored, and Naxal terror was finally eliminated. Following the BJP’s return to power at the Centre, a decisive crackdown further strengthened law and order, returning normalcy to people’s lives,” he stated.

BJP’s Legacy of Delivering Promises

PM Modi also highlighted key initiatives and historic decisions made during his decade-long tenure.

He cited the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370, and implementation of the One Rank, One Pension scheme for the armed forces as examples of the BJP government fulfilling its election pledges.

He recalled the 2017 Pahalgam terror attack and asked the crowd whether India’s forces had delivered justice to those responsible.

The Prime Minister further cautioned voters against falling for what he described as ‘fake promises’ by the Mahagathbandhan, warning that their return to power would lead to the revival of a ‘katta sarkar’, a reference to lawlessness and misgovernance.
