Bihar is preparing for the second and final phase of its 2025 Assembly elections, scheduled for today, November 11.
The outcome of this phase will decide the composition of the next state government after an intense campaign marked by high voter enthusiasm and robust security arrangements.
Voting will take place from 7 AM to 5 PM across 122 assembly constituencies in 20 districts. Voters already in line by 5 PM will still be allowed to cast their ballots.
The counting of votes for all 243 constituencies is slated for November 14, with results expected to shape Bihar’s political trajectory for the next five years.
Seats, Candidates, and Voter Demographics
This final phase will cover 122 constituencies,101 general seats, 19 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 2 for Scheduled Tribes (ST). A total of 1,302 candidates, including 136 women, are in the fray.
The electorate stands at approximately 3.7 crore, comprising 1.95 crore male and 1.74 crore female voters. To accommodate this large voter base, the Election Commission has established over 45,399 polling booths across the participating districts.
In anticipation of a heavy voter turnout, the Election Commission of India has reinforced security throughout the state.
The Election Commission has deployed over 500 companies of Central Armed Police Forces, including the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, to maintain peace and ensure fair polling.
A dedicated observer will oversee operations in every constituency, and officials will monitor all polling stations via webcasting. Polling authorities will also require voters to deposit their smartphones outside polling booths to ensure transparency.
