In the Sanatana Dharma controversy, Bihar’s Education Minister Chandrashekhar has entered the fray, drawing a comparison to deadly potassium cyanide. The trend of making comments on religion in the country’s politics has been on the rise. First, Udhayanidhi Stalin compared Sanatan Dharma to diseases like dengue and malaria, and his party leader, D. Raja, even called it AIDS. RJD leader Jagdanand also did not hold back, making critical comments about Sanatan Dharma. Now, Bihar’s Education Minister has joined the controversy.
Chandrashekhar Yadav, the Education Minister of Bihar, has compared Sanatan Dharma to deadly potassium cyanide. Earlier, he had made controversial statements about the Ramcharitmanas. During an event on Hindi Day, Chandrashekhar remarked that if you serve a meal with fifty-five types of dishes and mix potassium cyanide in it, what will happen? He likened this scenario to the state of Hindu scriptures. He expressed his objection to the Ramcharitmanas and vowed to oppose it throughout his life. Furthermore, the Education Minister stated that until the castes of those who fall into gutters are not changed, the country will continue to need reservations and caste-based census.
It’s worth noting that Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister for Youth and Sports in Tamil Nadu, had criticized Sanatan Dharma during an event in Chennai. He compared it to dengue, malaria, and fever, and called for its eradication. This led to a significant controversy.
Similarly, Jagdanand Singh, a prominent leader of the RJD, stated that the people who apply tilak (vermilion mark) and roam around have enslaved India. He defended his statement, claiming that he had already made this point during an RJD program, and everyone knows it. There’s no need to reiterate it.
