In an unfortunate incident, Nand Kumar Baghel, the father of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, passed away on Monday, January 8. Nand Kumar Baghel had been hospitalized at Raipur’s Shribalaji Hospital for the past three months due to a chronic illness. On Monday morning, he succumbed to his illness in the hospital.
Doctors had previously indicated that the 89-year-old Nand Kumar Baghel was battling chronic brain and spine-related ailments, along with uncontrolled diabetes. Bhupesh Baghel’s father experienced paralysis on his right side and partial functionality on his left. His health has been a cause for concern since November 2023.
As per the reports, the mortal remains of Nand Kumar Baghel, are resting at his Patan residence. The final rites are planned for January 10, awaiting the return of Bhupesh Baghel’s sister from abroad. Bhupesh Baghel shared this information via social media.
The former Chief Minister and Congress leader, Bhupesh Baghel, conveyed the distressing news of his father’s demise through a post on his social media account X. ‘With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Babuji Shri Nand Kumar Baghel ji this morning. Currently, the body rests at Patan Sadan. The final rites will be conducted on January 10 at our home village Kuruddih after my younger sister returns from abroad,’ he articulated in Hindi.
