Beating Retreat 2023: Grand event begins with President Droupadi Murmu

Beating Retreat 2023: The Beating ceremony begins at Vijay Chowk. India’s biggest drone show is a part of the mega spectacle at the iconic Vijay Chowk in Delhi at the grand Beating Retreat event. Amid light shower rain, President Droupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces joined the ‘Beating the Retreat’ ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are also present at the ceremony.

Indian Air Force’s band is playing ‘Aprajey Arjun’, ‘Charkha’, ‘Vayu Shakti’, ‘Swadeshi’, while ‘Ekla Cholo Re’, ‘Hum Taiyyar Hai’, and ‘Jai Bharati’ will be played by the band of Indian Navy.

Tunes based on Indian classical music will be the flavor of the Beating Retreat ceremony which will also include the country’s “biggest drone show” comprising 3,500 indigenous drones, officials said Saturday.

The Beating Retreat Ceremony every year marks the culmination of the week-long Republic Day celebration.

The blazing drum and drones mark the formal end of Republic Day celebrations that have commenced at Vijay Chowk in the national capital on Sunday.
