Asian Games 2026: Amit Shah Congratulates Indian Men’s Skeet Team On Bronze

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Mairaj Ahmad Khan after India won the bronze medal in the men’s skeet team event at the 2026 Asian Games.

In a post on social media, Shah praised the shooters for adding to India’s medal tally and encouraged them to maintain their momentum.

“Great going, Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill, and Mairaj Ahmad Khan. Adding to the pride of the Tiranga, you have secured a well-deserved Bronze Medal🥉in the Men’s Skeet Team event at the #AsianGames2026. There is a long way to go!” the Minister posted on X.

The Indian trio finished level with Kazakhstan at 346 points before securing third place in a shoot-off. Their performance earned India the bronze in the men’s skeet team competition at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

The result, however, added to India’s strong shooting campaign at the continental event, with Naruka, Gill and Mairaj combining for a podium finish.

Naruka progressed to the men’s individual skeet final after producing a strong qualification performance. Mairaj and Gill competed in the individual qualification round.

The men’s team bronze came on a productive day for Indian shooting, with the women’s skeet team securing a medal.

Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Maheshwari Chauhan claimed bronze in the women’s team event, giving India another podium finish in skeet.

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are being held from September 19 to October 4, with Indian shooters competing across rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines.

With Naruka through to the individual final, India’s skeet campaign has another opportunity to add to its medal tally.
