Asian Games 2026: Amit Shah Congratulates Mirabai Chanu On Weightlifting Silver

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Mirabai Chanu after the Indian weightlifter secured the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg category at the 2026 Asian Games.

Chanu produced a strong performance in the women’s 49 kg competition to claim the silver medal for India at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Her podium finish added to the country’s medal tally at the continental event.

The weightlifter has established herself as one of India’s leading names in the sport, having represented the country at several major international competitions.

Mirabai Chanu’s career includes Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship honours, making her one of India’s most accomplished weightlifters.
