Army Honours 18 ‘Veer Naris’ At Dogra Regimental Centre

The 18th Reunion of the Dogra Regiment at its Regimental Centre in Ayodhya witnessed a heartfelt tribute to 18 ‘Veer Naris’, recognising their unwavering spirit and contributions as part of the Regiment’s proud tradition.

The ceremony highlighted the motto ‘Duty Before Self’ and celebrated the enduring legacy of sacrifice within the Indian Armed Forces.

Rita Vij, wife of former Chief of Army Staff General Nirmal Chander Vij, and Lakshmi Bhuvan, wife of Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, graced the tribute.

The Army felicitated the ‘Veer Naris’ in recognition of their resilience and Dogra pride.

The event reflected shared military traditions and the unbreakable bonds that sustain families of the armed forces.

The Army statement also noted that through quiet strength, perseverance, and courage, the ‘Veer Naris’ continue to uphold the Regiment’s honour across generations.

The Commandant addressed the gathering, emphasising that these women remain the unseen force behind every hero, inspiring officers and soldiers alike to carry forward the Dogra legacy with dignity and resolve.

The event concluded with the rallying cry: ‘Jai Jwala, Jai Dogra’.

In a separate initiative, Honorary Captain Sanjay Kumar, one of India’s three living Param Vir Chakra awardees, inspired students at Army Public School No. 2 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

Sharing stories of courage, patriotism, and selfless service, he urged students to pursue excellence and embrace duty towards the nation.

The Central Command said such events honour sacrifices and inspire patriotism. Captain Sanjay Kumar’s courage motivates future generations, while celebrating ‘Veer Naris’ reinforces the Army’s legacy of valour and service.
