Gautam Adani Reviews ₹43,000 Crore Power Projects In Jharkhand & Bihar

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani visited eastern India to review the Group’s key power projects in Jharkhand and Bihar.

At Godda, Jharkhand, he inspected the 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant, built at a cost of over ₹16,000 crore.

The plant, located in a tribal-dominated region, has generated thousands of direct and indirect jobs and improved local rail connectivity.

The Godda plant supplies electricity exclusively to Bangladesh under a long-term agreement, giving it cross-border strategic significance.

During his visit, Adani interacted with engineers, technicians, and frontline workers, appreciating their contributions to the project’s success.

In Bihar, Gautam Adani reviewed plans for a 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical power project at Pirpainti near Bhagalpur.

The project will cost over ₹27,000 crore and is slated for completion within four to five years.

It aims to meet the rising industrial and urban power demand in the state and strengthen Bihar’s position as a key destination for large-scale infrastructure investment.

Through these projects, the Adani Group has emerged as one of the largest private infrastructure investors in Jharkhand and Bihar, states rich in mineral resources but historically limited in industrial development.

Adani also met tribal women from nearby communities, underscoring a people-first approach as the Group expands its operations.

Earlier, he offered prayers at the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar, describing the visit as the fulfilment of a long-held personal wish.

He shared on X that visiting Baba Baidyanath in Deoghar made him feel centuries-old faith still pulsates vibrantly, and seeing Mahadev reinforced why he symbolises strength, restraint, and resolve.

In recent years, the Adani Group has supported major spiritual and public events, including the Maha Kumbh Mela and the Jagannath Rath Yatra, combining industrial leadership with cultural engagement.
