Amit Shah To Chair Key Central Zonal Council Meeting In Bastar

The 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council will be held in Bastar on May 19, marking a significant moment for regional cooperation and governance initiatives in central India.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the meeting, which will bring together the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for discussions on inter-state coordination and development issues.

Ahead of the event, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a high-level review meeting to examine preparations for the gathering.

Senior officials presented a detailed briefing on the agenda and policy proposals that the Chhattisgarh government intends to place before the council.

The Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements and directed officials to ensure smooth coordination and proper execution of all responsibilities linked to the event.

According to the state government, the Central Zonal Council has emerged as an important platform for dialogue between states and the Centre, helping address common administrative and developmental challenges through cooperation and consensus.

Chief Minister Sai said the participating states play a key role in the broader vision of a developed India and described the council as an example of collaborative federalism. He noted that the member states have maintained a cooperative approach without major disputes, making the council a productive forum for policy discussions.

The Chhattisgarh government also described the hosting of the meeting in Bastar as symbolically important. Officials said organising a national-level event in the region reflects improved peace and stability there in recent years.

Chief Minister Sai credited the restoration of normalcy in Bastar to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
