Amit Shah To Begin Three-Day Jammu And Kashmir Visit To Review Security, Development

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to begin an important three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to conduct a comprehensive review of the security situation, assess development projects, and hold interactions with political stakeholders.

During the visit, the Home Minister will hold high-level meetings with security agencies and senior administrative officials to evaluate the overall law and order scenario, along with the progress of governance and infrastructure initiatives underway in the Union Territory.

Amit Shah will reach Jammu in the evening of February 5 and is likely to meet political leaders at Lok Bhawan later the same day.

On the morning of February 6, he will visit the international border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.

During the border visit, the Home Minister will inspect the latest equipment installed by the Border Security Force to prevent infiltration and strengthen border surveillance.

In the afternoon of February 6, Amit Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting in Jammu.

The meeting will bring together Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Intelligence Bureau, chiefs of the Central Armed Police Forces, and senior officers from the Union Territory’s civil administration, police, and intelligence agencies.

On the morning of February 7, the Union Home Minister will proceed to Srinagar, where he will likely launch several developmental projects. Later in the afternoon, he will depart from Srinagar for Chhattisgarh.

This will be Amit Shah’s second top-level security review of Jammu and Kashmir within a month.

Earlier Review and Follow-Up Visits

Earlier, on January 8, he chaired a high-level security review meeting on the Union Territory in New Delhi.

That review was followed by visits of Union Home Secretary Gobind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau chief Tapan Deka, chiefs of Central Armed Police Forces, and other senior officials to Jammu on January 14 and 15.
