Iran Unveils Underground Missile Base As Tensions With US Escalate

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a new underground missile base amid ongoing tensions with the United States, according to local media reports.

Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday (local time) that the underground missile facility came to light during a visit by Abdolrahim Mousavi and Seyed Majid Mousavi, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Division, citing the semi-official Fars News Agency.

During the visit, the capabilities and operational readiness of the IRGC’s missile units were reviewed, and senior commanders were briefed on the progress and preparedness of the strategic unit.

At the base, Abdolrahim Mousavi said Iran has strengthened its deterrence power by upgrading its ballistic missiles across all technical dimensions. He noted that assessments conducted at the site reflected the growing readiness of Iran’s missile forces and their ability to respond to evolving security challenges.

Mousavi also referred to lessons drawn from the 12-day war with Israel in June last year, stating that Iran has altered its military doctrine accordingly.

“We are ready for any action from the enemies. Also, following the 12-day war (with Israel in June last year), we have changed our military doctrine from defensive to offensive based on the approach of carrying out lightning-fast and large-scale operations while adopting asymmetric warfare and crushing military strategies,” he said.

Warning to the United States

His remarks come at a time when tensions remain high between Tehran and Washington, with the United States increasing its military presence near Iran and issuing warnings that Iran must strike a deal with Washington or face the risk of attack.

On Sunday, Mousavi warned that any miscalculation by the United States could trigger a wider regional conflict, according to the official news agency IRNA.

“The slightest mistake will give Iran the freedom to take action. Then, no American will be safe, and the region’s fire will burn the United States and its associates,” he said.
