Ajit Pawar’s Power Screaming Out Loud With His Baramati Visit; Is He Ready To Battle Against Senior Pawar?

Mumbai: On Saturday, Ajit Pawar put up a strong show of force in his Baramati visit, his assembly district and the stronghold of the senior Pawar on Saturday. This was a day after NCP head Sharad Pawar disowned his rebel nephew and declared that the latter would not have another chance to join the party.

Ajit Pawar’s visit to Baramati

After leaving the NCP and becoming the deputy chief minister of the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition, Ajit made his maiden trip to Baramati. His supporters lavished him with flowers from earthmovers and decked him with enormous garlands as part of a magnificent welcome. Ajit’s four-hour road show on the route to the gathering was a calculated move to demonstrate his power and convey the idea that the party members in Baramati supported him. His wife Sunetra and son Parth were with him.

Nothing against the Senior Pawar but…

While attempting to persuade his supporters of his deeds, Ajit did not speak negatively of his uncle. “Sometimes, strange decisions have to be taken for the sake of development,” he declared. “There are emotions and there is faith, but some decisions are taken out of compulsion. People will criticise us but the young generation knows that the steps (rebellion) were taken just for Baramatikars.” Ajit also brought up how the NCP had two chances to run for chief minister following the elections in 2004 and 2019 but chose not to do so.

Ajit Pawar at Baramati Visit diverts from what he said earlier…

Ajit attempted to defend his choice to team up with the BJP by gushing about Narendra Modi, who he had previously criticized in his rallies. “PM Modi is a real idol,” he said. “He works hard. Even during festivals, he did not stay home but went to the border to celebrate the festivals with soldiers.”

Pawars are not coming together it seems

According to an NCP senior, the recent events showed that both Ajit and Sharad Pawar had come to terms with the fact that there was no chance of them reconciling with the two factions of the party. “Although Ajit Pawar has not spoken directly about it, Sharad Pawar has made it clear over the last two days,” he said. “This has come after the questions that were raised regarding the meetings between them and suspicion about their possible reunion. The two factions have cleared the air and stressed that they will fight against each other.”
