Again! Digvijaya Singh attacks BJP, Congress sidelines, says “the remarks were his own”

“A bundle of lies”- Digvijaya Singh

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh slammed the BJP-led central government on Monday, claiming that it provided no proof of surgical strikes while claiming to have killed a large number of terrorists.

He accused Narendra Modi of ruling the country through a “bundle of lies”.

“They (the Centre) talk about surgical strikes and how many of them (terrorists) they have killed, but there is no proof,” Singh told a gathering during the Bharat Jodo Yatra here. “The Pulwama attack occurred. 40 of our CRPF officers were martyred. Why were they murdered? The CRPF director requested that because Pulwama is a sensitive zone, CRPF jawans be airlifted to Delhi from Srinagar by plane, but Modi ji refused. “Why did he refuse?” he questioned.

The government has yet to present the details of the incident to Parliament or the citizens, he claims.

He claimed Pulwama is a terrorism hotspot where all vehicles are checked and questioned “why a Scorpio vehicle, which came from the opposite direction, was not checked” when the attack on a CRPF convoy occurred.

Congress sidelined Digvijaya Singh

Meanwhile, the Congress distanced itself from Singh’s remarks, claiming that they were “his own” and did not reflect the party’s position.

BJP’s Counterpart

The BJP claims that the opposition party is “blinded” by its “hate” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has “insulted” the armed forces, adding that such statements are made at the request of the Congress’ top leadership.

According to BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, making “irresponsible remarks” has become a “character” of the Congress.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia listed out Mr. Singh’s alleged controversies and said that he has added “one more to his list of anti-national activities”.

Tehseen Poonawalla, a political analyst and Congress supporter, slammed Mr. Singh’s remark, calling it a “self-goal” for the party. He stated that these are the “same” people who continue to do the same things that are “destroying” the party.

“The same people continue to do the same things and achieve the same results. On the one hand, the Hon’ble PM is naming 21 islands after those who have received the #ParamVirChakra, and on the other, he is questioning surgical strikes against #ParakramDivas. It’s always the same people destroying the party! “He stated in his tweet.

Mr. Poonawala questioned Mr. Singh’s remarks further, claiming that Lieutenant General Hooda, who ordered the surgical strikes, had joined the Congress. gathering.

“Lt. Gen. Hooda, who led the surgical strikes, has joined the Congress! It’s #ParakramDivas Day today! Why would anyone bring up #surgicalstrike at this time? This is not the first time these self-goals have been achieved!! #BharatJodoYatra, “He went on to say in the tweet.
