Acharya Lokesh Pays Tribute To Dr APJ Abdul Kalam On His Death Anniversary

Jain spiritual leader Acharya Lokesh Muni paid an emotional tribute to former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary, recalling their warm and intellectually enriching association.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the Acharya remembered Kalam not only as the ‘Missile Man’ of India but as a spiritual thinker deeply committed to peace and ethical leadership.

Sharing a rare photograph of one of their meetings, Acharya Lokesh wrote that he had participated in over a dozen programmes, dialogues, and conferences alongside Dr Kalam.

Reflecting on these experiences, he wrote with nostalgia, “Bahut yaad aate ho,” meaning “You are deeply missed.” He added, “While serving as President, he would often join discussions and conferences with equal interest and warmth.”

Acharya Lokesh stated that they interacted beyond just formal events. They frequently exchanged thoughts on ethics, science, and spirituality, reflecting a rare meeting of minds between a scientist-president and a peace-committed monk.

A Tribute from Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati

Paying homage on behalf of the Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati World Peace Centre, Acharya Lokesh offered a heartfelt tribute to the former President.

“On the death anniversary of India’s former President, Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati World Peace Centre offers its respectful homage,” the post stated.

The tribute aligns with the Centre’s ongoing mission to promote peace, non-violence, and interfaith dialogue globally, an effort Dr Kalam strongly supported.

Acharya Lokesh highlighted that Dr Kalam had always supported the values of non-violence (ahimsa), education rooted in ethics, and inclusive development.

He believed in science not just for progress, but for the upliftment of humanity. According to the Acharya, their shared goal was to inspire youth through the confluence of spiritual wisdom and scientific thought.

This public tribute serves as a reminder of Dr Kalam’s wide-ranging impact, not just as a scientist or statesman, but as a thinker whose ideas continue to resonate in spiritual and educational circles.

Acharya Lokesh’s memories add a deeply human dimension to Kalam’s legacy, reflecting the respect he commanded across domains.

As the nation commemorates Dr Kalam’s passing, such reflections underline the need to preserve and promote his ideals of simplicity, integrity, and service to mankind, ideals he shared with spiritual leaders like Acharya Lokesh.
