AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal Invokes Mahabharat, Urges Voters to Choose ‘Dharma’ Over ‘Adharma’

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief of AAP, drew parallels from the Hindu epic Mahabharata during a public gathering in Haryana’s Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency, urging voters to align themselves with ‘dharma’ (righteousness) as they head to the polls.

Speaking in support of Sushil Gupta, the AAP candidate from Kurukshetra, Kejriwal highlighted the party’s alliance with the Congress in Haryana, with AAP contesting from the sole Kurukshetra seat out of the ten parliamentary constituencies in the state.

Kejriwal criticized the BJP-JJP government led by Manohar Lal Khattar, accusing it of detrimental policies that have negatively impacted Haryana over the past decade.

Urging voters to elect AAP in Kurukshetra, Kejriwal emphasized the region’s historical significance as the site of the ‘dharmayudh’ (battle of righteousness) in Mahabharata.

He compared AAP’s position to that of the Pandavas in the epic, suggesting that despite facing odds, righteousness would prevail with divine intervention. Kejriwal asserted that AAP stands for ‘dharma’ while insinuating that the BJP represents ‘adharma’ (non-righteousness).

Kejriwal highlighted the power imbalance between AAP and the BJP-led Centre, stressing that while the BJP claims victory without voter support, AAP relies on the people’s mandate.

Addressing the audience, Kejriwal categorized citizens into ‘desh bhakts’ (patriots) and ‘andh bhakts’ (blind followers), urging the former to support AAP.

He criticized BJP MPs from Haryana for their alleged inaction and subservience to the party, accusing them of neglecting their constituents’ welfare.

Kejriwal also raised concerns about mistreating Haryana’s wrestlers and criticized the government’s handling of farmer protests, alleging suppression of legitimate demands.

He questioned the BJP MPs’ silence on issues affecting Haryana and emphasized the need for change in representation for the state’s progress.
