25,000 Artisans, Labourers Unite To Build Eco-Friendly Camps For Maha Kumbh 2025

The upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj is set to be a grand spiritual and cultural event, while also serving as a significant employment generator, with over 25,000 labourers, including skilled artisans and craftsmen, actively building temporary camps and infrastructure in the holy city.

Many of these workers have come from states like Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, showcasing a united effort to prepare for this mega event.

Labourers’ Efforts Focus On Building Sustainable Infrastructure For Maha Kumbh 2025

To accommodate the millions of expected visitors, workers are setting up a large number of eco-friendly camps with a focus on sustainable practices.

The Uttar Pradesh government is striving to make Maha Kumbh 2025 a grand and well-organized event. One of its primary goals is to maintain a clean and polythene-free Kumbh Mela area.

Additional Kumbh Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi stated that over 8,000 organizations are setting up camps, surpassing the previous Kumbh by 1.5 times.

These organizations are using eco-friendly materials like bamboo to construct camps and entry gates, aligning with the principles of environmental sustainability.

Mahant Ram Das of Devaraha Baba Nyas Manch emphasized that bamboo-built camps reflect the traditional ‘kutiya culture’, which aligns with the spirit of sacrifice and restraint during the Maha Kumbh.

In the Akhara area, workers are constructing 32 bamboo cottages under the Shri Panchayati Akhara Maha Nirvani.

To meet the high demand for these eco-friendly structures, over 25,000 workers from states such as Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh are working tirelessly.

Shambhu, an artisan from Bihar’s Purnia district, shared that over 7,000 workers from four districts of his state are constructing bamboo huts, yajna halls, and meditation rooms.

Another craftsman, Rajat Nishad, revealed that he is working on 32 bamboo cottages, with a tight deadline of just 15 days.

Workers are setting up Maha Kumbh 2025 across a vast 4,000-hectare area, divided into 25 sectors, with over 400 organizations operating in each.

This extensive preparation is creating significant employment opportunities for both local residents and migrant workers.

With preparations in full swing, Maha Kumbh 2025 is likely to be a remarkable event that celebrates spirituality, culture, and sustainability while providing livelihoods to thousands across the country.
