12 Years Of Nari Shakti: Amit Shah Highlights Impact Of Women-Led Development

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the government’s women-led development approach has accelerated social and economic progress while strengthening the position of women nationwide.

The Minister remarked that policies introduced during the past 12 years have enabled women to participate more actively in the country’s growth story and achieve greater levels of empowerment.

Through a message shared on X, Shah highlighted several government initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women. He noted that schemes such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, the Ujjwala programme, and large-scale sanitation projects have contributed significantly to improving living conditions and safeguarding women’s dignity.

The Minister also pointed to the success of the Mudra Scheme, which has enabled millions of women entrepreneurs to access collateral-free credit and pursue independent livelihoods.

According to Shah, initiatives including Lakhpati Didi, Crorepati Didi, and women-led self-help groups have strengthened economic participation and encouraged financial self-sufficiency.

The Home Minister emphasised that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam represents a major step towards increasing women’s representation in governance. He said the legislation, passed in 2023, provides a framework for reserving one-third of seats for women in legislative institutions, thereby encouraging greater participation in public life.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded the achievements of women while marking the milestone of #12YearsOfNariShakti. He observed that women have emerged as key contributors in a broad range of fields, including business, education, healthcare, science, sports, housing, sanitation, and public administration.

PM Modi described women as a driving force behind India’s development and said their accomplishments continue to elevate the country’s standing across various sectors. He added that the growing influence of women in shaping the nation’s future reflects the success of efforts aimed at fostering inclusive and women-led growth.
