A Facebook account named ‘Mubeen Speaks’ has been circulating an AI-generated video claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a scheme to provide free mobile phones to all ration card holders.

The video has gained traction online, misleading users with fabricated information.

The Press Information Bureau, under its fact-checking unit, PIB Fact Check, has categorically labelled the claim and the video as fake. Authorities confirmed that neither the Prime Minister nor the central government has made any such announcement.

Officials urged citizens to remain cautious and verify information before sharing it on social media platforms, especially when it involves government schemes or public welfare announcements.

According to PIB Fact Check, there is currently no plan or proposal by the central government to distribute free mobile phones to ration card holders.
