Sonakshi Sinha, the acclaimed Bollywood actress who has been garnering praise for her stellar performance in the streaming series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, is celebrating her birthday on Sunday.
However, instead of indulging in customary festivities, she has chosen to prioritize her work commitments, dedicating her special day to shooting for an upcoming film.
It’s a departure from her usual birthday celebrations, where Sonakshi often takes time off to travel and unwind.
This year, however, work takes precedence as she immerses herself in a romantic thriller helmed by debutant director Karan Rawal and produced by Echelon Productions.
According to a source close to the production, Sonakshi is currently stationed in Naigaon, northern Mumbai, where filming for the yet-to-be-titled project is underway, even on her birthday.
Sonakshi’s decision to remain on set reflects her dedication to her craft and the projects she undertakes.
Her recent portrayal in ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ received widespread acclaim, marking her foray into the digital streaming realm under the direction of renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
In the series, Sonakshi portrayed dual roles, embodying the characters of Rehana, the former chief courtesan of Shahi Mahal, and her daughter Fareedan.
The narrative, set against the backdrop of Lahore’s Heeramandi district, intricately weaves together the stories of courtesans with India’s struggle for independence.
‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ features an ensemble cast including Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, further solidifying its position as a significant addition to India’s streaming landscape.
As Sonakshi continues to captivate audiences with her versatility and commitment to her craft, her decision to prioritize work over birthday celebrations serves as a testament to her dedication and passion for filmmaking.
