The makers of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) have reportedly suspended filming for a week due to Amitabh Bachchan’s health concerns.
The source said the veteran actor has not been keeping well, prompting the production team to temporarily stop shooting new episodes.
Meanwhile, the channel has been broadcasting older episodes featuring celebrity guests as part of its Diwali special programming.
The last major celebrity episode filmed before the pause featured Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey. The actors appeared on the quiz show to promote their upcoming film Ramayan.
The makers initially planned to air the episode around the film’s release. However, Bachchan’s health concerns forced the team to revise its schedule.
The channel instead launched its Diwali special week with the episode last week.
The source said the production team hopes to resume filming next week, subject to Bachchan’s recovery.
In his Saturday blog, Bachchan reflected on gradually returning to work and routine. He also expressed gratitude towards his well-wishers and KBC viewers.
He wrote about the difficulties of adjusting to routine after a break, while highlighting his enduring connection with blog readers, Sunday well-wishers and the quiz show’s audience.
Bachchan thanked fans for their affection and warmth and offered prayers for them.
The actor’s health has remained a concern for fans over the years. In 1982, he suffered a life-threatening abdominal injury while filming a fight sequence for Coolie.
Bachchan underwent multiple surgeries following the accident. He has often credited his fans’ prayers and affection with helping him recover and described August 2, the day he returned home, as his ‘second birthday’.
