Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia reunite after nearly 39 years in Notice, a social drama released on Waves OTT on November 6, 2026.
Directed by Pradeep Gupta, the film follows an elderly man’s fight against the government system to save his 150-year-old ancestral shop.
The story centres on Narayan Gupta (Arun Govil), an honest and self-respecting man whose ancestral shop holds his family’s memories, heritage and dignity. His life changes when a government department issues a notice asking him to vacate the property before its demolition.
What follows is a difficult battle as Narayan and his wife approach government offices and courts to protect their family legacy.
The reunion of Govil and Deepika Chikhlia is one of the film’s biggest highlights.
Govil convincingly portrays a man determined to defend his self-respect, while Deepika brings warmth and sensitivity to the role of his wife. Their on-screen chemistry adds emotional depth to the narrative.
Pankaj Jha, known for Panchayat, delivers a strong performance as the influential and rigid face of the system.
Pradeep Gupta presents the family’s struggle through a realistic small-town setting.
The music supports the emotional narrative, with Kailash Kher’s ‘Ram Awadh Mein Aaye’ adding depth to an important sequence and ‘Na Ragda Na Raub’ bringing a folk touch.
The film’s relevant social theme, meaningful dialogues and performances are its strengths. Its slow pace may, however, not appeal to viewers who prefer fast-paced storytelling and frequent twists.
Overall, Notice is worth watching for its emotional story about family heritage, dignity and an ordinary citizen’s fight for justice.
