The famed Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who handled the casting for Jawan, responded to similarities being made between Jawan and the well-known Spanish murder thriller in an exclusive interview with entertainment journalist Faidoon Shahyar. In response to a question about whether Money Heist inspired Jawan, Chhabra said, “Jitne logon ko guess karna hai karte rahiye. Toh aapko pata chalega aapne dekha, Jab Jawan bahar aayegi.
