Gadar 2 crosses Rs 300 Cr
Gadar 2 has received a resoundingly positive reception from the public since its debut. The movie office success of the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel film shows no signs of slowing down. The movie reportedly made about Rs 20 crore on its seventh day, which was Friday, August 18. With this, the movie has officially joined the Rs 300 crore club.
According to preliminary estimates, Gadar 2 made between Rs 19.50 crore and 20.50 crore on day eight, as reported by Pinkvilla. Accordingly, the second Friday box office receipts of the Anil Sharma-directed film have topped those of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Aamir Khan’s Dangal, Yash Johar’s hit KGF 2, Aamir Khan’s PK, and Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. However, when all earnings up till the second Friday are taken into account, Pathaan had earned Rs 360 crore and Gadar 2 had almost Rs 300 crore.
Additionally, it should be mentioned that the movie had a dip in attendance of less than 50% from its debut day to the second Friday. The movie made Rs. 38.50 crore on its first day.
Gadar 2 was released on August 11 and stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. It is an authorised remake of the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
The 1971 Indo-Pak War serves as the setting for the movie. In the follow-up, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s characters Tara Singh and Sakeena are happily married, while Charan Jeet Singh, who was portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma in the first film’s child part, is now an adult. Their lives are perfect, then Charan Jeet ends up in Pakistan due to a change of circumstances. Later, Tara Singh goes back to Pakistan to save his kid.
