I.N.D.I.A Bloc Is Under Question After AAP, Congress Exchange Harsh Words

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), criticised Congress, a partner in the INDIA alliance, for the “terrible quality” of public schools in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh, which is governed by the Congress, will hold elections this year.

Following Mr. Kejriwal’s remarks, Congressman Pawan Khera questioned Mr. Kejriwal on why Chhattisgarh and Delhi should be compared, rather than the former Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh.
The discussion rekindled concerns about the INDIA opposition bloc’s lack of cohesion, which includes the AAP and the Congress.
Examples of how the AAP government in the nation’s capital has improved infrastructure and the standard of instruction in state-run schools are among the bragging rights that Mr. Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has frequently and outwardly shown.

“I was reading a story that claimed Chhattisgarh’s government schools are in appalling condition. Several schools have been closed. There are schools where there were formerly 10 classrooms, yet there was only one teacher. At a public rally in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Kejriwal said that many teachers were also not receiving pay.
“Ask your relatives who live in Delhi about the state of the government schools in Delhi. Since the country’s independence, there has never been a government that has done so much to support the education industry. In reference to the philosophy of the party that he and another co-founder co-founded, which takes its name from the Hindi word for a common man, Mr. Kejriwal added, “We are not politicians, we are just common people like you.”

In response to the AAP leader, Mr. Khera stated that Mr. Kejriwal was not required to travel to Raipur.

Why go to Raipur? Our Chhattisgarh government’s performance will be compared to that of the preceding Raman Singh administration. Let’s compare the effectiveness of your administration with that of the Congress government in Delhi in one of your preferred sectors. Ready for a discussion? In a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, Mr. Khera claimed.

At the Raipur event, Mr. Kejriwal pledged free power in Chhattisgarh for up to 300 units in the event that the AAP forms the government. Bhagwant Mann, a party associate and the chief minister of Punjab, was with him.
The two INDIA bloc members have previously engaged in passive-aggressive verbal sparring on preparations for contesting state elections.

Alka Lamba, a senior in the Congress, said on Thursday that the party has instructed its leaders to get ready for elections in each of Delhi’s seven Lok Sabha seats the next year. This sparked a dispute with the AAP.
“How to get ready for the 2024 election has been told to us. The leadership had meetings with our people in 18 states before to the gathering in Delhi. The decision has been made for all Congress leaders to start campaigning right now for the seven Delhi seats, Ms. Lamba said news outlet ANI. There are seven months left. The party staff has been instructed to get ready for all seven seats, she continued.

As soon as the AAP voiced “surprise” and questioned the necessity of the INDIA bloc if parties are going to go solo, Deepak Babaria, the Congress’s in-charge of Delhi, intervened to provide clarification.

The comment, according to Mr. Babaria, was made by the meeting’s leader, Ms. Lamba, and no seat-sharing arrangements were considered. “That topic was not covered at today’s meeting. The topic of conversation, according to Mr. Babaria, was how to make the party in Delhi stronger.

The AAP seemed to have formed an opinion on the subject prior to Mr. Babaria’s statement, one that would have repercussions for the INDIA alliance.

“The comment from the Congress leader is highly unexpected. What is the INDIA alliance justified by in light of such claims? It is crucial for the sake of the nation that Arvind Kejriwal ji determine what to do next. A choice should be made, according to AAP leader Vinay Mishra.

In the 2015 Delhi election, the AAP unexpectedly entered the picture and devastated the Congress, leaving a segment of the Delhi Congress still bitter about what happened. The BJP took 3 seats, and the AAP won 67 of the 70 seats. When the Congress drew a blank, Sheila Dikshit’s 15 years as Delhi’s chief minister came to an end.
Anil Chaudhary, the head of the Delhi Congress, and party leader Ajay Maken brought up potential problems with an alliance with the AAP during a crucial party meeting that was called by Mallikarjun Kharge, the head of the Congress, and MP Rahul Gandhi.
