From The Kerala Story To Super Velli: Adah Sharma Takes On A New Avatar

Actress Adah Sharma has disclosed the name of her forthcoming film Super Velli, where she will appear as an unconventional superhero.

Director Rajesh Bachchani is directing the project and promises a humorous twist on the traditional superhero narrative.

Adah revealed that the concept gained attention after she posted a playful video online saying she was ‘Velli’. The clip quickly circulated across media platforms, with some outlets interpreting it as a remark about her being idle or without work.

Instead of immediately addressing the misunderstanding, the actress chose to respond playfully. She explained that she imagined how Velli would react in that situation and realised the character would probably ignore the confusion, which prompted her to reveal the film’s title, Super Velli.

Director Rajesh Bachchani spoke about selecting Adah for the lead role, recalling her lively portrayal of Bhavna Reddy in the Commando series.

“I remember Adah’s fun character, Bhavna Reddy, from ‘Commando’ movies. Her genuine raw talent with an intelligent, sharp yet quirky personality, humour and action, there was no doubt that Adah is our ‘Super Velli’. I’ve been working on the script for 3 years, and we are making something new and fresh for the audiences,” he stated.

Following the strong attention she received for her performance in The Kerala Story, Adah is now exploring a completely different genre that blends satire with action.

Early glimpses indicate that the film will feature a superhero who often prefers resting rather than saving the world, yet still finds herself involved in unpredictable adventures.

Adah Sharma Responds to The Kerala Story Sequel Speculation

Adah recently addressed speculation about the sequel to The Kerala Story, explaining, “I enjoy speaking about a film I am part of. When I’m not a part of a film, I feel speaking about it just to be in the news isn’t right. Whether I was offered the sequel or not is something that should remain between the makers and the actor and not really be discussed publicly.”

“The first part was about ISIS camps in Afghanistan and showed step by step how an innocent girl ends up becoming a terrorist. Part 2 is a completely different story,” she further noted.
