Cannes 2026: Huma Qureshi Stuns In Traditional Banarasi Saree

Actress Huma Qureshi turned heads at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival after appearing in a traditional Banarasi saree inspired by the heritage of Varanasi.

The actress shared photographs from the French Riviera on Instagram, where she was seen wearing a deep plum-coloured saree featuring gold zari work. She paired the look with gold temple jewellery and subtle makeup.

In her social media post, Huma described the outfit as a blend of tradition and modernity.

Referring to the weave’s cultural roots, Huma wrote that the saree carried a timeless quality. She also said the motifs felt contemporary and playful.

The actress added that wearing the Banarasi weave at Cannes felt especially meaningful because the festival itself celebrates storytelling and cinema. She said the attire appeared to narrate its own story.

During the event, Huma was also spotted with Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek. The two attended a gathering organised under the ‘Women in Cinema’ initiative. The event was hosted by the Red Sea Film Foundation. Several international film personalities attended the gathering. Huma later reshared a photograph from the gathering on social media.

On the work front, Huma was recently seen in ‘Single Salma’ alongside Sunny Singh and Shreyas Talpade. She is now preparing for the release of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups starring Yash, in which she plays the character Elizabeth.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas and written by Yash, the film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth and Akshay Oberoi.

The project has been filmed in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
