Avengers: Endgame Encore has delivered a major box-office boost to Marvel’s 2019 blockbuster, earning an estimated $86 million worldwide during its opening weekend.
The re-release collected $26 million in North America and $60 million internationally, according to Disney.
The additional revenue has lifted Avengers: Endgame’s cumulative worldwide gross to approximately $2.885 billion.
The film now sits about $39 million behind Avatar’s $2.924 billion worldwide total, keeping the all-time box-office race within reach.
India emerged as one of the strongest international markets for the encore.
The film earned ₹22.45 crore net during its opening weekend, with its India gross reaching approximately ₹26.85 crore. It collected ₹7.25 crore on Friday, ₹7.65 crore on Saturday and ₹7.55 crore on Sunday, according to trade estimates.
The film added another ₹2.35 crore net on Monday, taking its India net total to ₹24.80 crore and its India gross to ₹29.65 crore.
The worldwide encore opening also ranks as the second-biggest global opening for a re-release, behind only Titanic’s 2012 3D re-release.
Marvel released Endgame Encore with additional footage ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, giving the seven-year-old blockbuster another theatrical run while adding fresh material to its overall box-office tally.
