Renowned singer Arijit Singh has postponed his upcoming live concert in Abu Dhabi in response to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
On Thursday, Arijit’s team shared an official statement on Instagram announcing the decision to defer the 9 May 2025 concert scheduled at Etihad Arena, Yas Island.
“Dear Fans, due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert in Abu Dhabi, originally scheduled for 9 May 2025, at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island. We deeply appreciate your patience, support and understanding during this time. We are working closely with the venue and the new date will be announced soon,” the note read.
The statement further clarified that all existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date.
Those unable to attend on the new date may request a full refund starting 12 May 2025, with a 7-day refund window.
“All purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date, or you may opt for a full refund within 7 days, starting 12 May 2025 (Monday). Thank you for your continued love and support, we look forward to creating unforgettable memories with you soon. With love, Team Arijit Singh Live,” it added.
The announcement follows India’s retaliatory strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan, after a devastating attack in Pahalgam last month, allegedly carried out by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists, left 26 people dead.
In the aftermath of that incident, Arijit Singh had also called off a concert in Chennai.
He informed fans via Instagram Stories by sharing a note issued by the event organisers.
The Pahalgam attack claimed over 26 lives, including a local who attempted to resist the terrorists.
Reports suggest that the attackers targeted tourists based on their faith before opening fire.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a terror outfit believed to be an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the massacre.
TRF, reportedly formed following the abrogation of Article 370, which had granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
