Amitabh Bachchan Praises India’s T20 World Cup Win; Says Humility Remains Greatest Victory

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan joined millions of supporters in celebrating the triumph of the Indian national cricket team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final.

India secured an emphatic victory against the New Zealand national cricket team, delighting fans across the country.

After the match, Bachchan shared his reaction on X. He congratulated the team and praised their commanding display on the international stage.

In his message, he emphasised humility despite success, writing that no triumph surpasses the virtue of modesty.

India achieved a historic milestone with the victory. The team became the first side to successfully defend the Men’s T20 World Cup title and also lifted the trophy for a record third time.

The final took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8 before a crowd of more than 86,000 spectators.

Sanju Samson delivered a spectacular 89 from 46 balls, guiding India to a massive 255/5, the highest total ever recorded in a T20 World Cup final.

Later, bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel dismantled New Zealand’s batting order.

Only Tim Seifert resisted with a determined half-century as the visitors fell for 159.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav became the fourth Indian skipper to secure a men’s World Cup title.
