Following a great response from exports, Salt Range Foods announced on Saturday that it will focus on growing its retail distribution of honey products across the country.
The Guwahati-based company, founded in 2014, began as a distributor before progressively establishing its own production with a current capacity of 2,000 tonnes per year.
“We are exporting 95 percent of our production to the US, Europe, and Middle East countries. We retail only in Guwahati and have an online presence on Amazon and Flipkart”, Salt Range Foods Director Pawandeep Singh Kohli explained.
Singh went on to say, “Salt Range Foods, which has put a stall at the ongoing three-day World Food India event in the national capital, will focus on retail expansion through the digital market”.
“Honey is a highly adulterated product. There is a huge demand for quality honey in India and we want to tap that demand. We believe our product fulfills the quality norms considering we are exporting to several nations”, Singh continued.
According to Kohli, the company intends to raise its honey production capacity to 5,000 tonnes per year by 2026. Honey is currently sourced from Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, and Bihar. The company also has over 500 beehives.
Under the brand name ‘Salt Range’, the company provides various flavors such as mustard, Sundarban forest, litchi, and coriander.
