President Murmu Emphasizes India’s Growth And ‘One Nation One Election’ Plan On Republic Day Eve

On the eve of India’s 76th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu voiced her support for the ‘One Nation One Election’ proposal, highlighting the potential benefits of synchronized election schedules. She emphasized that this initiative could help streamline governance, reduce financial burdens, prevent policy paralysis, and ensure consistency in leadership.

In her address, President Murmu celebrated 75 years of India’s Constitution, noting that the nation has made remarkable progress since its adoption. She stressed that the Constitution laid the foundation for India’s collective identity and played a pivotal role in the country’s development. “Our economy today not only influences global trends but also strengthens India’s leadership on international platforms,” she said.

Reflecting on the country’s transformation, the President acknowledged the tireless efforts of farmers, laborers, and citizens in building a self-sufficient India. She emphasized how India’s economy now drives global economic trends, thanks to a consistent high growth rate, job creation, and poverty alleviation. “The bold reforms we’ve undertaken will sustain this momentum in the years ahead,” she added.

A Renewed Focus On Culture And Heritage

President Murmu celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage, mentioning the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of the nation’s ancient traditions. She also underscored the government’s efforts to preserve and promote classical languages, including Assamese, Bengali, and Marathi, as part of its cultural initiatives.

Furthermore, she pointed out India’s rising intellectual prowess, citing improvements in the Global Innovation Index and the National Quantum Mission aimed at advancing cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and robotics.

A Strong Nation, Empowered By Youth

Murmu concluded her address by focusing on the nation’s youth, particularly young women, whose aspirations will shape India’s future. She expressed confidence in the country’s trajectory toward becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India) by 2047 and urged citizens to continue striving for progress. The President also encouraged efforts to combat climate change, referring to initiatives such as Mission Lifestyle for Environment and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
