Adani Group on Sunday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for its new cement grinding unit in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant investment in the state’s industrial sector.
Addressing the gathering, Pranav Adani, Managing Director of Adani Enterprises, said the project would contribute to employment generation, infrastructure growth, and economic development across the region.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, state ministers, government officials, and representatives from the Adani Group.
Pranav Adani stated that the project symbolised more than the launch of a cement facility and represented a major step towards accelerating Madhya Pradesh’s development journey. He praised the state government for focusing on infrastructure, industrial growth, and job creation under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
According to Pranav Adani, improvements in logistics, transport infrastructure, and industrial connectivity under the Prime Minister’s PM Gati-Shakti vision have created a favourable investment climate in Madhya Pradesh. He also thanked Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for supporting the group’s initiatives and helping development projects move forward efficiently.
Pranav Adani highlighted that the Adani Group operates in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, and green technology, adding that the company’s objective extends beyond business expansion to contributing towards India’s economic progress.
Referring to the Global Investors Summit held in Bhopal last year, Pranav Adani noted that Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani had announced an investment commitment of ₹1.10 lakh crore for Madhya Pradesh.
The investments will cover sectors including hydro pumped storage, cement, mining, thermal energy, and smart meters.
Pranav Adani said the initiative aims to create employment opportunities for nearly 1.2 lakh people by 2030. He further mentioned that the group has already invested more than ₹4,000 crore in the Ametha and Kymor plants located in Katni district.
Pranav Adani added that Adani Power currently supplies 1,200 megawatts of electricity to Madhya Pradesh, while preparations are underway for an additional 5,600 megawatts of power generation.
The new Adani Cement project in Guna will developed in two phases with an annual production capacity of 40 lakh metric tonnes. The company aims to commission the first phase by 2028.
The project involves an investment exceeding ₹1,060 crore and is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to around 1,500 people.
Pranav Adani stated that the project would also encourage the growth of transport services, local businesses, supply chains, and small enterprises in nearby areas. He added that the plant represented the group’s long-term confidence in the people, youth, and future development of Madhya Pradesh.
