The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has signed an agreement with the Adani Group to accelerate the redevelopment of the Motilal Nagar area in Goregaon, Mumbai.
Under the Motilal Nagar Redevelopment Project, authorities will rehabilitate 3,700 residents by providing them with modern apartments measuring 1,600 square feet each.
The developers will build the project across 142 acres, covering 5.8 lakh square meters.
The Adani Group secured the redevelopment contract by placing the highest bid for the project.
Authorities will also provide non-resident tenants with commercial spaces measuring 987 square feet.
Officials believe the project will significantly improve Mumbai’s urban infrastructure and expand access to affordable housing.
With state backing and private sector expertise, the initiative aims to transform the residential landscape in one of Mumbai’s prime suburbs.
