Reliance Jio could become India’s second-largest company by market capitalisation after its anticipated stock market listing, according to valuation estimates.
The company’s projected market capitalisation stands at approximately ₹12.61 lakh crore, potentially exceeding Bharti Airtel’s valuation by around ₹25,700 crore.
This could position Jio immediately behind its parent company, Reliance Industries, in the rankings of India’s most valuable businesses.
According to the estimates, Jio would need a listing price of approximately ₹1,342 per share to overtake Airtel.
Jio’s estimated issue price is ₹1,119 per share. Reports indicate a grey market premium of approximately ₹245–255, suggesting a potential listing price of around ₹1,369 if the premium reaches ₹250.
Bharti Airtel’s last traded price stood at ₹1,978.80, giving the telecom operator an estimated market capitalisation of approximately ₹12.35 lakh crore.
However, grey market premiums are unofficial indicators and do not guarantee the price at which shares will list.
Reliance Industries is projected to remain India’s most valuable company, with an estimated market capitalisation of ₹16.19 lakh crore.
Jio could take second place, followed by Bharti Airtel at ₹12.35 lakh crore.
HDFC Bank, valued at approximately ₹10.49 lakh crore, and ICICI Bank, at around ₹9.96 lakh crore, could occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The projections also suggest that no Adani Group company would feature among the top five businesses by market capitalisation.
These valuations are estimates based on market indicators and could change before or after the listing.
Jio’s actual market capitalisation will depend on its final listing price and subsequent share-price movements.
Its position among India’s most valuable companies will become clearer once trading begins.
