ACC Boosts Cement Capacity By 3.4 MTPA, Advances Ambuja Merger Plan

ACC Limited strengthened its operational footprint during the second quarter of FY27 by adding 3.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of cement capacity.

The company commissioned a 2.4 MTPA grinding unit at Salai Banwa in Uttar Pradesh.

Bulk Cement Corporation (India) Limited, an ACC subsidiary, also added 1 MTPA of capacity at Kalamboli, Maharashtra.

ACC recorded cement sales of 9.72 million tonnes during the quarter. Its trade sales share rose by seven percentage points year-on-year to 78%, while premium products accounted for 47% of trade sales.

Blended cement contributed 85% of the company’s sales mix, compared with 78% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations reached ₹5,689 crore, while operating EBITDA stood at ₹401 crore, representing a margin of 7%.

Ready-mix concrete volumes increased 19% year-on-year to 1.07 million cubic metres.

ACC shareholders approved the proposed amalgamation with Ambuja Cements at a meeting convened by the NCLT on 29 September 2026.

The proposal will now proceed to the tribunal for final sanction, subject to the remaining approvals.

The merger aims to simplify the corporate structure, improve manufacturing and logistics coordination, and unlock operational efficiencies.

Completion is expected during FY27, subject to regulatory and statutory clearances.

ACC increased its green power share to 34.4% in Q2 FY27, compared with 30.3% a year earlier.

Its S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment net score also improved from 72 to 82, while its gross score remained at 89 out of 100.

The company additionally reported a water-positive status of 5.46 times during the quarter.

ACC said its expansion, premiumisation strategy and sustainability initiatives would support future growth amid continuing demand for infrastructure, housing and construction materials.
