Indore SEZ Sees Surge In IT And Software Exports; Topping ₹4,038 Crore In FY25

Indore’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) reported a significant increase in IT and software service exports, reaching ₹4,038.6 crore in the fiscal year 2024-25, a 7% rise compared to the previous year.

The boost in exports stemmed primarily from rising global demand for solutions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and enterprise technologies.

According to the SEZ development commissioner’s office, exports climbed from ₹3,781.6 crore in FY24 to ₹4,038.6 crore in FY25, covering the period from April 2024 to March 2025.

Currently, around 22 IT and IT-enabled service (ITES) companies operate within the zone, contributing to its steady growth.

Among the key contributors, Crystal IT Park companies collectively recorded ₹703.58 crore in exports, marking a 19% increase year-over-year.

Infosys And TCS Post Strong Growth

Two major IT players—Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)—also posted strong numbers.

Infosys saw exports jump by 19.7%, reaching ₹817.10 crore, while TCS led the pack with ₹1,847.9 crore, up by 7.1% from last fiscal.

These numbers reflect the expanding digital services landscape, with Indore emerging as a key hub for high-end IT exports.

However, not all companies experienced upward trends. Impetus Infotech Pvt Ltd saw its exports decline by 15.9%, totaling ₹573.6 crore.

Similarly, Yash Technologies Pvt Ltd reported a 3.82% drop, bringing their exports down to ₹96.46 crore in FY25.

Pharmaceutical Export Drop Impacts Overall SEZ Performance

While the IT sector flourished, overall exports from Indore’s multi-product SEZ dropped to ₹12,948 crore, reflecting a 9.23% decline compared to the previous year.

Officials attributed the slump to a significant decrease in pharmaceutical exports, which account for more than 65% of the SEZ’s total export volume.

Despite the downturn in pharma, the strong performance by IT and software firms offers a positive outlook for Indore’s SEZ, which continues to position itself as a key player in India’s tech-driven export economy.
