Gautam Adani Urges Youth To Lead India’s AI Revolution In Baramati

Addressing a large gathering in Baramati on December 28, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani urged young Indians to rise and lead the age of artificial intelligence with confidence and purpose.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Vidya Pratishthan Sharadchandra Pawar Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (AI CoE), he described the occasion as a historic step towards building India’s future capabilities.

Thanking the organisers and dignitaries present, Gautam Adani said the new centre symbolises progress, transformation and limitless potential, shaped by the vision of veteran leader Sharadchandra Pawar.

Reflecting on his long association with Sharadchandra Pawar, Gautam Adani described him as a mentor whose wisdom, empathy and leadership left a lasting impact.

Drawing from his many visits to Baramati, he said the region stands as a living example of integrated development in agriculture, education, cooperatives, entrepreneurship and industry.

According to him, Pawar’s work in Baramati mirrors his broader national contribution in shaping India’s agricultural policy, food security framework and rural economy during critical periods.

AI and the Next Phase of Human Progress

Turning to the future, Gautam Adani said human progress advances through technological leaps rather than linear growth.

Explaining the sequence of industrial revolutions, he said the world is now living through the Fourth Industrial Revolution, defined by artificial intelligence.

Acknowledging concerns around job losses and disruption, he noted that history shows technology ultimately expands opportunity.

Citing global and Indian examples, he said digital and mobile revolutions created millions of jobs and unlocked new business models rather than destroying work.

Stressing India’s unique opportunity, Gautam Adani said artificial intelligence will be a far more powerful leap than mobile technology.

If mobile connectivity provided access, he said, AI will deliver capability by embedding intelligence into every aspect of life and work.

Explaining further, he said AI will become the fourth national foundation alongside digital identity, financial inclusion and connectivity.

With AI-powered tools, farmers, entrepreneurs and homemakers will be able to scale productivity, access markets and create value regardless of geography.

Warning against over-dependence, Gautam Adani said India cannot afford to place its jobs, data and intelligence in the hands of foreign algorithms.

He pointed out that global competition has made AI a strategic asset linked to power, wealth and national freedom.

Therefore, he argued, India must build its own AI models, compute infrastructure and intelligence ecosystems aligned with national interests.

Highlighting the Adani Group’s role, Gautam Adani said the company has invested heavily in green energy, data centres and digital infrastructure to support AI at scale.

He said clean, affordable energy and resilient infrastructure are essential to making India a global hub for intelligence systems.

Describing the group’s integrated operations across ports, airports, power and logistics, he said these platforms offer a real-world laboratory for industrial AI applications.

A Call to India’s Youth

Addressing students directly, Gautam Adani said the new AI Centre should be a place of creation rather than observation.

Encouraging them to think independently and innovate boldly, he said the age of intelligence demands capability, courage and creativity.

Concluding his address, he urged young Indians not just to witness history, but to shape it, saying the moment and opportunity now belong to them.
