Gautam Adani Hails Navi Mumbai Airport As A Beacon Of India’s Aspirations

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday lauded the completion of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it ‘a symbol of Bharat’s aspirations’ and a significant milestone in India’s economic development.

From blueprints to skylines, from dreams to runways, today India soars higher as Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport,” Gautam Adani said on X.

Gautam Adani expressed his gratitude to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu for their support. He also thanked other government officials for their assistance.

Adani also thanked construction workers, engineers, artisans, security personnel, and team members for their dedication. He noted that the airport represents more than infrastructure; it embodies the nation’s ambitions.

PM Modi Highlights Connectivity and Growth

Addressing the ceremony, PM Modi called NMIA a project that offers a glimpse of Viksit Bharat.

He noted, “It is built on the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, shaped like a lotus flower, and will enhance regional and global connectivity.”

He added that the airport is Mumbai’s second international airport, strengthening the city’s position as a major connectivity hub in Asia.

“Through this airport, Maharashtra’s farmers can reach supermarkets in Europe and the Middle East,” he said.

Moreover, PM Modi emphasised that NMIA will ease congestion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and expand India’s aviation capacity, transforming travel and positioning Mumbai as a global growth hub.

He also highlighted government initiatives in smaller cities, particularly the UDAN Yojana, which has made air travel affordable and accessible. Over the past decade, millions have flown for the first time. Consequently, India has become the world’s third-largest domestic aviation market.

Finally, he added that these efforts allow countless citizens to realise their flying dreams, thereby contributing to India’s broader vision of infrastructure-led growth and enhanced connectivity.
