Ganga Expressway Nears Reality As Adani Successfully Trials High-Tech Toll Booth

The Ganga Expressway project recorded a major operational milestone on Thursday as Adani Enterprises successfully conducted a trial run of a fully automated toll booth at kilometre 146 in Badaun district.

The seamless trial reinforced the rapid progress of one of Uttar Pradesh’s most ambitious infrastructure corridors, positioning it closer to full-scale commissioning.

During the trial, vehicles equipped with FASTag passed through the toll lane smoothly as scanners accurately read the tags. The automatic boom barrier lifted instantly as vehicles slowed near the toll booth.

Officials on-site confirmed that the system functioned smoothly, reflecting the advanced integration of digital tolling technology and traffic management systems.

Adani Enterprises is constructing Groups 2, 3, and 4 of the Ganga Expressway and confirmed that trial operations are underway at other toll locations along these stretches.

The company stated that it is actively testing systems to ensure seamless toll operations before full commissioning.

Adani Enterprises stated that testing activities are progressing steadily. It added that it will complete trials across all toll booths under its scope shortly.

Engineers and technical teams closely monitored performance indicators to ensure accuracy, response time, and safety compliance.

The Badaun-to-Prayagraj stretch forms a critical segment of the Ganga Expressway project. Adani Enterprises is executing this entire section.

Once operational, the corridor will dramatically improve connectivity between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. It will reduce travel time and accelerate regional economic activity across the state.

Fastag Trial Signals Readiness

The successful toll booth trial highlights the expressway’s readiness to adopt modern, cashless infrastructure in line with national digital mobility goals.

Officials described the FASTag-enabled tolling system as a crucial tool for maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow. They said it reduces congestion and significantly improves convenience for commuters.

Automated toll plazas will improve transparency and efficiency in revenue collection. They will also reduce human intervention and operational delays.

The Uttar Pradesh government views the Ganga Expressway as a flagship development initiative. The project aims to transform the logistics industry growth and mobility across the state.
