On Tuesday, equity benchmark indices began trading on a positive note but later experienced turbulent trends and were trading flat.
The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 123.82 points to 74,019.36 in early trade. The NSE Nifty soared 56.35 points to 22,499.05.
Later, both the benchmark indices experienced volatility and were trading at marginal.
Marico, Dabur India, Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Consumer, Nestle India, Britannia Industries, ITC, Colgate-Palmolive, and RECL were the top gainers.
Among the laggards were SRF, Power Grid Corp, IRFC, Zomato, Info Edge (India), PNB, Cholamandalam Invest, DLF, JIO Financial Serv., and JSW Steel.
In Asian markets, Shanghai, Tokyo, Malaysia, South Korea, and Taiwan were trading higher, while Gift Nifty and Hong Kong were trading lower.
US markets concluded with gains on Monday.
Brent crude gained 0.29 percent to USD 83.57 per barrel.
According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold securities worth Rs 2,168.75 crore on Monday.
On Monday, the Sensex moved 17.39 points or 0.02 percent to 73,895.54, while the Nifty lost 33.15 points or 0.15 percent to 22,442.70.
