Adani Green Energy Posts 37% Rise In Energy Sales In First Nine Months Of FY26

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Friday reported a 37 per cent year-on-year growth in energy sales during the first nine months of the current financial year (FY26), driven by strong capacity additions and steady operational performance.

The company’s operational renewable energy capacity rose 48 per cent year-on-year to 17.2 GW, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s energy transition. Greenfield capacity addition during calendar year 2025 stood at 5.6 GW, accounting for nearly 14 per cent of the total solar and wind capacity added across the country.

During the April–December period of FY26, AGEL added 2,995 MW of greenfield capacity, which is more than 90 per cent of the total capacity addition achieved in the entire FY25. Revenue from operations increased 25 per cent year-on-year to Rs 8,508 crore, while EBITDA rose 24 per cent to Rs 7,921 crore over the same period.

“In calendar year 2026, Adani Green Energy has continued its exceptional growth trajectory, adding 5.6 GW of renewable energy capacity — representing nearly 14 per cent of all new solar and wind capacity installed across India,” said Ashish Khanna, CEO of Adani Green Energy.

“This achievement further cements our position as the country’s leading green energy provider, with our operational capacity now reaching 17.2 GW.”

Khavda Project And Storage Plans

Khanna said the company’s flagship Khavda project, billed as the world’s largest renewable energy installation, is progressing at an accelerated pace. “Our landmark Khavda project, the world’s largest renewable energy installation, is progressing at an accelerated pace. We are on track for deployment of one of the world’s largest single-location battery energy storage projects in the coming months. Our hydro pumped storage project on Chitravathi River in Andhra Pradesh is also on track,” he added.

In the first nine months of FY26, AGEL generated over 27 billion units of clean electricity, an amount sufficient to power a country the size of Azerbaijan for an entire year.

AGEL is also advancing work on its proposed 30 GW renewable energy plant at Khavda in Gujarat. Spread across 538 square kilometres—almost five times the size of Paris—the project is expected to set a global benchmark for ultra-large renewable energy developments.
