The Adani Green Energy Gallery at the Science Museum in London attracted 7 lakh visitors in its first year.
Dedicated to promoting clean energy innovations, the gallery aims to raise awareness about sustainable technologies and the transition to a low-carbon future.
Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) sponsored the gallery, and the Science Museum curated it.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of AGEL, inaugurated it on March 26, 2024. The exhibition, which offers free entry, highlights renewable energy solutions to tackle climate change.
In one year, the gallery hosted over 40 curator-led tours.
Organizations like the Climate Change Committee, the Met Office, the World Energy Council, and UK Government departments participated.
These tours provided insights into energy transition and decarbonization efforts.
The gallery won the 2024 Brick Awards in the Innovation category for its low-carbon brick bench exhibit.
The exhibit features the world’s first 100% hydrogen-fired brick, which reduces carbon emissions by 81-84% compared to natural gas-fired bricks.
The Decarbonisation Tracker exhibit now shows the UK’s carbon intensity trends.
In 2024, Britain recorded a historic low in CO2 emissions per kilowatt-hour of electricity supplied.
The exhibit will track the UK’s CO2 emissions until 2035.
AGEL, one of the largest renewable energy companies, operates over 13 gigawatts of wind, solar, and hybrid energy projects.
The gallery’s design, by Unknown Works, focuses on sustainability. It uses recyclable aluminum and repurposed shelves from the Science Museum’s former object store.
The Adani Green Energy Gallery continues to inspire global clean energy efforts and supports the world’s transition to net-zero emissions.
