Adani Electricity Marks Road Safety Month With Citywide Awareness Drive

Adani Electricity marked the 37th National Road Safety Month with an extensive awareness campaign, reinforcing its commitment to public safety and responsible citizenship. The initiative ran from January 1 to January 31 in collaboration with the Mumbai Traffic Police Department.

The programme focused on practical road safety education. It covered defensive driving techniques, strict signal compliance and mindful behaviour on roads.

Employees and city residents participated in structured sessions designed to reduce accidents and encourage disciplined mobility.

The campaign concluded with participants taking a collective safety oath, underscoring shared accountability.

At the same time, Adani Electricity partnered with the Adani Foundation to engage school students through its CSR initiative, Project Utthan.

The activities centred on the theme ‘Suraksha Hamari Zimmedari,’ highlighting personal responsibility for safety.

Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the programme adopted interactive learning tools.

Children learned through simulated zebra crossings, traffic signal games and role-based exercises. These methods aimed to embed life-saving habits early and nurture responsible civic behaviour.

Beyond safety outreach, Adani Electricity continued to strengthen its operational credentials.

The company earned an A+ national ranking for the second year in a row. It received recognition in the 14th Annual Integrated Rating and Ranking of Power Distribution Utilities by the Power Finance Corporation.

The recognition reflects consistent delivery of reliable electricity, effective loss reduction and sound financial governance.

As the utility completes 100 years of service in Mumbai, it reaffirms its role in supporting essential infrastructure and maintaining public trust.

Sector Turnaround and Efficiency Gains

The wider Indian power distribution sector posted a strong turnaround in FY25. It reported a combined profit after tax of Rs 2,701 crore after recording a significant loss in FY24.

Adani Electricity reported billing efficiency above 95 per cent and near-perfect collection levels.

The company attributed the performance to disciplined financial management and consistent operations. It also highlighted the role of data analytics and smart metering solutions.

These measures have positioned it as a reference point for urban power utilities.

Separately, Adani Foundation, with support from Adani Electricity, observed National Girl Child Day on January 24.

The event engaged BMC school students under Project Utthan, reinforcing the group’s commitment to inclusive social development.
