(Express Editorial) World Cup Loss: It’s a pain not to heal soon

They say, you can laugh and smile within no time, but if you are in tears, you cannot smile just like that. Pain takes time and a deep wound takes even longer to heal.

World cup loss to India is a pain deeply felt in around one billion hearts which is the biggest on earth. Now they say, be sport! Forget it and move on!!

Is it that easy? Can this be easy for a dream cherished by one billion hearts? The shattering of it is the shattering of one billion hearts! Can we move on just like that? Is it a joke?

Cross your heart and tell the truth – Do they really deserve the defeat?

No prom, the impatient cricket buffs of India can bury the hatchet and forget the pain if you make sure you find the satisfactory replies of two questions – Why was the Indian skipper given out when his catch was dropped by Head? When Labuchen was clearly LBW out which was seen on screen by everyone, why wasn’t he given out by the Empire?

When we know we have been not good but great while playing against all ten days, why were we not the same on the eleventh day? They may say this happens, not all days are same. Okay, still we were playing great and dishonest practices stopped our chariot to a historic victory and no one is talking about it.

Many Indian cricket lovers had complaints of low blood pressure, many disappointed to that extent that they do not want to watch cricket any more. What is there for to watch any more.

There will be many contests in future but the love has been shattered. It was not a mistake by the team or any member of the team..and was not a mistake of the spectators either. The only mistake was the hope which had reached to the extent of belief. Everyone was sure, India is going to lift the World Cup.

But, hopes do hurt and hurt hearts don’t sing.
