Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy left this world on November 14 at the age of 75. As soon as the news of Subrata Roy’s demise came on the night of November 14, there was a wave of mourning in the industry. Subrata Roy, popularly known among his fans as ‘Saharasri’, started his business in Gorakhpur and laid the foundation of Sahara, which later brightened the lives of millions of families.
In memory of ‘Saharasri’, an exclusive documentary based on her life was shown on the Bharat Express News Channel at 8 p.m. on November 23. This documentary shows the unseen aspects of ‘Saharasri’s personality.
Bharat Express Chairman Upendra Rai was very close to ‘Saharasri’. Upendra Rai became very emotional after hearing the news of the demise of ‘Saharasri’.
Paying tribute to ‘Saharasri’, Bharat Express Chairman Upendra Rai said, “With the untimely demise of Saharasri, it felt as if the rhythm of life had been broken. Some aspects of Saharasri’s life were seen by society, for which there were both critics and admirers. But his journey from Chandan to Subrata Roy, from Subrata Roy to Subrata Roy Sahara, and from Subrata Roy Sahara to Saharasri has been very touching.
Therefore, today I consider it necessary to bring this fact before the world: behind the personality of Saharasri, who lived a glittering life and lived like a king, there was always a white-clad fakir standing. I am saying this because I had a formal talk with him about 120 hours before his demise. At that time, I realized that, despite knowing that he had only a few moments left to live, he had no fear of death. I have never seen anyone else facing the end of their life like this. This film, which is being telecast on Bharat Express and portrays the unseen aspects of her personality on screen, is a humble tribute to Saharasri from me and Bharat Express News Network.”
After laying the foundation of Sahara India Parivar, Subrata Roy took it to great heights. Not only this, but through Sahara India, this company reached every home in the country, and Saharashri’s empire spread outside the country until London. The status of ‘Saharashree’ was such that many stalwarts from politics, Bollywood, and sports used to visit his place. He had a good friendship with many of these veterans. At one time, the job of Sahara Group was seen as a government job. People used to dream of joining this company.
